It's Not About Safety, It's About Control, an article on The BangSwitch about how gun control progressed in France.
The article is a few months old and a long read, but it's a good detail about European gun restriction and why the right to keep and bear arms is so important. Like a frog in a pot of boiling water, things slowly change before we know we're cooked.
I like how it was considered common sense and no big deal for a woman to carry a pistol in her purse.
We already have restriction (NFA weapons, the 'assault weapons' hype). What's next?
First it's universal background checks; can't have people buying guns that can't be tracked.
Then it's registration; can't enforce background checks without registration.
Registration is broken down into registering new purchases or transfers, then requiring retroactive registration of everything else.
Finally, confiscation comes, because they know who has the guns.
Only bad governments need to fear an armed citizenry. They don't want you to have guns because they want you to be dependant on the government for protect and ultimately, so you cannot rebel.
Say no to universal background checks and say no to gun control.
