First They Passed Background Checks...Then They Came for Me

The ‘Nevadans’ for Background Checks says that it has enough signatures to qualify its petition for a 2016 ballot initiative. All that we can hope for is that they do not have enough valid signatures. If this goes on the ballot, we face a fight with an enemy, Michael Bloomberg and his billionaire, totalitarian ilk, who will spend any amount of money to brainwash the unwary into voting away their rights. It seems so simple, so ‘common sense.’ Except it’s not common sense.

Those who would seek to pervert our rights, those who are willingly ignorant to the truth and complicit with the wave of progressive tyranny are going to ‘celebrate’ their attempt at stealing yet another thing from Nevadan gun owners. If you can, get to the Elections Division of Clark County tomorrow at 1 PM. By all means, open carry. Show them what our right mean to us.

Criminals will not subject themselves to background checks. They obtain guns illegally now, even though the largest source of guns, the retail sector, has federally mandated background checks. Plus criminals, being criminals, don’t care about straw purchases, stealing guns, or illegally possessing a gun. This law will stop no criminals and only encumber the average citizen. Do you want to be presumed a criminal?

Do you want to be subjected to an enforceable, poorly crafted law intended to erode your right to bear arms one law at a time? That is the intent of the laws; slowly make it more and more difficult to keep and bear arms. First background checks, then registration, then confiscation. Look at the UK and Australia and countless other examples; this was the route they took.

What is the ultimate outcome of these initiatives? Massive civil disobedience and turning average people like you and me into criminals, simply because they object to be forced to go to a dealer, pay money, and ask permission to buy a gun. Most gun owners will not comply with these laws, when it suits them. Thousands of Washington State residents are vowing not to comply with their new Bloomberg-sired background check law.

Martin Luther King said this, building on ideas by Thomas Jefferson: “One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.” The idea is found all throughout the writings of the world’s great thinkers and our founding fathers. We cannot obey a law that means to strip us of our god-given rights. Background checks are just the first stop in restricting our rights. Look at how I-594 in Washington was written: everyone who basically touches a gun they do not own is a criminal. And that’s the idea: make everyone a criminal so they can take away their guns. When no one has guns, no one can resist the government when they being to do whatever they feel like, constitutional or not.

And guess what else? There is no way for the government to really know. The author knows for a fact that many average Californian’s who would never dream of committing a gun crime trade guns in violation of California’s tyrannical, restrictive, and absurd gun laws. Indeed, many firefighters, soldiers, and police officers in the Golden State possess plenty of illegal, unregistered ‘assault weapons’; guns that are illegal because of the way the look. California still perseveres.

When they start persecuting gun owners, there will be bloodshed. The only way to stand against tyrants who want a disarmed populace to further their tyranny is by the force of arms; the very reason the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution exists. Police officers who have forgotten their vows to uphold the Constitution and who care nothing about the rights of citizens will be literally caught in the crossfire. Americans will fight and die to preserve their guns in order to preserve their liberty. Remember, without guns America could never have won its freedom from Great Britain.

I am not calling for violence now; we still have other means to stop this evil. Here is what the Declaration of Independence says about revolution:
“...that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
Those are the conditions of revolution, and we are not yet there. Yet we cannot sit idly by and let our rights disappear. “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing,” (wrongly attributed to Edmund Burke). We must speak with our neighbors, vote in representatives who respect our rights, ignore and counter liars like Bloomberg and his bastard children advocacy groups.

Henry David Thoreau said this, and I cannot say it better:
“Unjust laws exist; shall we be content to obey them, or shall we endeavor to amend them, and obey them until we have succeeded, or shall we transgress them at once? Men generally, under such a government as this, think that they ought to wait until they have persuaded the majority to alter them. They think that, if they should resist, the remedy would be worse than the evil. But it is the fault of the government itself that the remedy is worse than the evil. It makes it worse. Why is it not more apt to anticipate and provide for  reform? Why does it not cherish its wise minority? Why does it cry and resist before it is hurt? Why does it not encourage its citizens to be on the alert to point out its faults, and do better than it would have them?”
He needs no commentary.

Stand against tyrants like Bloomberg and their money; donate, support, and vote against ‘gun control’ legislation like this background check initiative. Don’t whine and stay home; get out and vote. Fight against this in the democratic manner so that we don’t have to fight and kill for our rights—that is a very real threat. It’s time to read the tea leaves and see the signs of the times. Tyranny is coming, only to be stopped by a violent and bloody revolution, if we sit at home and do nothing. I hope and pray that we can turn this tide by democratic means; ones that aren't funded by men who would be right at home with King George III.

Speak, vote, and donate so that we may never have to fight.
