NELIS and PLT: You Need Them Both. Today.

For everyone who values their Second Amendment rights, you need to listen up.  The 79th session of the Nevada Legislature just got underway, and will run until the end of May.  This happens every other year, on the odd years.  During this statutory 120-day session, your gun rights could improve dramatically, or just evaporate, depending on whether YOU pay attention and get involved.

First, you need to know that most everything coming out of the legislature is available to the public through a system called NELIS, reachable at https://www.leg.state.nv.us/App/NELIS/REL/79th2017 . All of the proposed bills, hearings, etc, will be posted there.  You can read up on the text of the bills, see who the sponsors are, etc.  You don’t need an account to view this info, but you’ll want one….

Second, within NELIS is a subsystem called PLT, which stands for Personal Legislative Tracker.  This system allows you to sign up for a free account, and register to track bills of interest.  You can even get email notification when a hearing is scheduled for a bill, that sort of thing.  The free account is limited to 10 bills.  If you want to track more than that, you can either upgrade to a pay account, or just create another 10-bill free account.

To get started, go to NELIS (https://www.leg.state.nv.us/App/NELIS/REL/79th2017) and click on REGISTER at the top.  Go through the process to create an account and get logged in.  Once you’ve done that, go back to the NELIS homepage and click on PERSONALIZED LEGISLATIVE TRACKING, and then SUBSCRIBE (or something to that effect).

Once you’ve gone through that process, you can ADD SUBSCRIPTIONS (Bills, by their numbers).  Simple as that.

Don’t let another Question#1 squeak by us.  Get involved, pay attention.  Show up to hearings.  Raise Heck.

If you would like to be notified via social media of hearings on bills, write-ups and more, please like/follow the following pages:

And if you are still not a member of the Nevada Firearms Coalition, please, get on over there and sign up today.  These are the people fighting the good fight on your behalf.  Membership is cheap, and has benefits!
